The Plastic Spur Gear 27mm 24 Teeth For DIY Projects, for robotics and DIY gear train applications. This spur gear transmits rotation between two parallel shafts — unlike a gear rack which converts rotation to linear motion, two meshing spur gears of the same module change torque and speed ratios between motor and output shafts, with the speed ratio determined by the tooth count difference between the driving and driven gears.
This gears for robotics application of the plastic spur gear uses polyacetal or nylon rather than generic ABS plastic — both polyacetal and nylon have significantly better wear resistance and self-lubricating properties that reduce friction at the tooth mesh interface over extended operation. The spur gear 27mm’s 6mm center bore fits common motor shafts and standard 6mm used in making this plastic spur gear a drop-in for gear train assemblies using these standard shaft sizes.
the plastic spur gear price reflects a component whose module (tooth size) is not explicitly stated in the specification — two spur gears must share the same module to mesh correctly, so verifying this gear’s module against any mating gear before building a gear train is essential. Available from StemVolt, offering quality robotics parts and DIY kits at competitive prices. This 27mm 24 teeth plastic spur gear is ideal for robotics applications, educational models, and small mechanical drive systems.
